Stephanie Schecter fell in love with music and singing at an early age as she would follow her dad, who has been a drummer in bands his whole life, around to his band practices and gigs…at bars and all.

Writing song lyrics has always been her passion but at the age of 16, she figured no one would really listen (except her wonderful Grammy who she credits for giving her the first encouragement) unless she took up an instrument to play along to her catchy melodies and lyrics.  So her plan was to keep stealing her dad’s Taylor guitar up to her room to learn how to play. After learning at home, she went on to take lessons, while still writing song after song. From there she became a singer/songwriter performing her music at places including Eddie’s Attic (Atlanta), Underground Atlanta New Years’ Eve Peach Drop, The Charleston Farmers’ Market, The Windjammer (Charleston), as well as many benefit concerts and local venues around Atlanta, her hometown of Rome, GA and current home of Charleston, SC.

In 2009, the summer before Stephanie went off to study Music Theory/Composition at College of Charleston, she recorded and independently released a full-length album, Capturing A Moment, produced by Ben McRee at the Temple Studio. The album can be found on iTunes, CDbaby, Amazon, and other distribution sites.

Currently, Stephanie is excited to be working on a 5-track demo CD that will show a slightly different and more mature sound than her full-length album.  You can find additional updates on her demo and her upcoming performances on her Facebook Music page -

Stephanie is booking performance appearances to promote her upcoming demo CD. For booking information, please contact Stephanie at

“To me, music is about sharing. Having people relate to my songs and feel something from the music is the biggest personal reward and the reason why I create. If it helps me, maybe it will help others too.”
